Argyre Planitia - Ediacara

Argyre Planitia returns with his third full-length release on our Winter-Light label: Ediacara. 

Welcome to a harsh, unyielding world that distant descendants will someday name Earth. A place where planetary conditions swing between hellish inferno and deep freeze. 

A harsh and inhospitable sphere: its air unfit to breathe, its newborn continents raw and lifeless, its oceans home only to tiny microbial pioneers. In ages still to come, the planet will be plunged into a global ice age; a freeze so complete it will seem like the end of all possibilities and yet it will become the spark that opens the way for more complex life. 

It sounds impossible that such a hostile and alien world could someday cradle forests, animals, civilisations, and dreams. And yet, this strange planet—once utterly unrecognisable, will become the place we now know as home. 

Stefan has crafted ten dark ambient pieces in his own uniquely immersive style. Deep drones, subtle sonic artefacts, and brooding atmospherics guide the listener through a sound world that reaches back millions of years — a meditation on the shifting, ancient landscapes of our ever-changing planet.
